Ubisoft has revealed a teaser for its next big collaboration—and this time, it’s diving headfirst into the chaotic world of Borderlands. The crossover was teased on the Cheap Rainbow Six Siege X Account and will be fully unveiled on July 15, 2025, marking the first major brand partnership since the game’s Siege X overhaul earlier this year.
Though brief, the teaser trailer featured some unmistakable Borderlands flair. Fans quickly spotted the male Psycho Bandit skin, recognizable to any longtime Borderlands player, with its iconic mask and stylized cel-shading effects. A weapon skin with a similarly comic-like design was also shown, as well as a possible MVP animation involving a dropped lighter, a cheeky nod to Borderlands’ over-the-top tone.
This crossover represents a bold visual departure for Rainbow Six Siege, which has traditionally embraced a more realistic aesthetic. However, Ubisoft has dabbled in pop culture tie-ins before, such as Sledge’s Halo-themed Master Chief skin and Ash’s elite Tomb Raider cosmetic. Still, this Borderlands event looks to be the most stylistically daring yet.

The collaboration has been a topic of speculation for months. Back in May, fans watching the R6 RE:LO:AD tournament in Rio de Janeiro noticed what appeared to be a Borderlands-style cosmetic during a live match. South Korean pro Lee “GoodBoy” Ji-heon’s in-game POV showed a colorful, cel-shaded mask—an early and unintentional reveal that fueled the rumor mill.
Not long after, screenshots began surfacing online hinting at two crossover skins: Mozzie receiving the Psycho Bandit look and IQ donning a skin based on Lilith, one of Borderlands’ most beloved Sirens. Their respective weapons—the Commando-9 and 552 Commando—are also expected to receive matching skins styled after the Borderlands universe.
While Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed these specific Operator skins or gun cosmetics, the teaser’s visual cues support many of the rumors. What is confirmed, however, is that Siege is doubling down on engaging its player base with fun, unexpected collaborations.
The company hasn’t revealed whether there will be esports tie-ins or themed tournament content during the crossover event. But with competitive Siege heating up this summer—thanks to the Element Five series and the upcoming Esports World Cup tournament from August 5 to 9—fans might see bonus content or cosmetics tied to broadcasts and streams.
Whether you’re a tactical purist or a fan of Borderlands’ mayhem, this crossover seems to offer the best of both worlds.
