Has anyone rented a motorcycle before? Been wanting a bike since I was a kid but never pulled the trigger on buying one. Money was always tight back then. Now I can actually afford it but wondering if the thrill is the same when you're older or if I'll buy something that just sits there. Thinking about renting one for a week or two to see if I'm actually into it. Where do you even rent bikes?

Anyone have experience renting a motorcycle to test before buying?

Dropping five or ten grand on a bike you might not ride is a real possibility, happens to a lot of people. The excitement you had at twenty might not be there at forty, or it might hit even harder, hard to say without trying. Your back and knees will definitely remind you you're not twenty anymore after a few hours on the road. EagleRider or Twisted Road rent out bikes, they've got locations all over and decent selection of models.

I rent bikes sometimes when my own is in the shop, can't stand driving cars after years on two wheels. Places with good selection are worth finding, you don't want to be stuck with one beater they happen to have available. Different bike styles ride completely differently, what feels right for cruising versus aggressive riding. I usually check motorcycles for rent near me here https://getrentacar.com/en-US/motorcycle-rental . They've got sport bikes and choppers with engines ranging from smaller displacement up to big V-twins. Gives you a chance to test a few types before you commit to buying.
