Based on what we observed with the old system, new users were often lost with all the variable settings required to start a new game. Worse, they would often create games that were configured in a way that was not as enjoyable as they could be. This would attract other new players to try the game and get frustrated. Not desirable.

Basic members now have access to a greater variety of solo games compared to the old system. There is also pre-created multiplayer games that they can join. They cannot, however, create games or scenarios.

Games are now directly based off of scenarios. Scenarios have more options to provide all the required configuration information to start a game. There will also be further addition of even more configuration options for scenarios in the future.

Experienced players who have premium membership can create new scenarios and start new games from existing scenarios. This will help ensure a higher quality of publicly available games.

We will be continuing to streamline both new and experienced player features to improve the overall experience for everyone. As a very experienced player and map builder your feedback will be essential.
